Young hostas will quickly mature throughout the season. You may see blooms the first year. For a fuller look plant two together. Hostas prefer shade to partial shade. Morning full sun is ok. Water at the end of the day (after 4:30/6:00) for the first week until roots are established. Blooms will appear around the beginning of July for our area. They are purple/blue and bloom in a domino effect up a long lime green stem. The honeybees and bumblebees go nuts over them as do the humming birds and hummingbird bees. To keep slugs away use a natural deterrent like beer in a dish hidden under the leaves.
